Blackberry is waterlogged.. need some help

So today while I was working (I am a referee) it started to downpour out of nowhere. So my phone was stuck in my back getting soaked. When I finally got the opportunity to open the bag the blinking red light was a solid green, switching to a orange, then back to red, and followed that cycle for a bit. Also when I pushed the red end button it persisted to think I was pushing "35" over and over again. I took the phone apart and set it down for a bit. After about an hour I put it back together and turned it on the same problem persisted and eventually the screen went back.

Bottom line, my phone got rained on and is fucked right now. Has anyone else had this happen to them and fixed it? Right now it is taken apart, battery, back, and phone are separated. Any ideas how to fix this?

I dropped my phone in a hot tub and put it in the oven on really low heat for about an hour and took it out and let it cool down and it worked as good as new.

Take out the battery and put it in a bag/bowl of uncooked (hard) white rice. As for the phone try a freezer.

definitely this. the rice will absorb the moisture out of the phone and help dry it out without risking damaging other components (screen for instance) with heat. also, do not try and turn it on again until it has had several days to dry. putting power through a wet board can fry the fucker.

ultimately, its a crap shoot though. ive seen phones go in to the river, or go through a washing machine, and then fire right on up. i've also seen phones completely fried from bringing them in to the bathroom when you take a hot shower (steam). good luck dude.

DO NOT turn it on. Put it in rice with the battery out and also in the rice, keep it in there for as long as humanly possible. The first time you try to turn it on, it will probably short circuit and be ruined depending on how long you leave it in the rice.

Bag of rice is your best option.

We found a ipod touch 32gb at the end of the season in the woods of my hills, and it was completly soaking wet, we simply put it in the bag of rice and came back up to life after 24hour. So give it a shot.

If the whole rice thing doesn't work then check the water damage indicators on the phone. I got my phone wet and luckily the water damage indicator on the actual phone wasn't activated, only the one on the battery was. So I made a $20 investment in a new battery and then brought the clearly broken phone and new battery into the verizon store and they gave me a totally brand new blackberry because they couldn't fix it or tell that it was for sure water damaged.

it has to be a sealed bag of rice or the rice will absorb the moister in the air.

also, next time it starts to rain, turn the phone off immediately, and don't turn it on til using the rice/bag method  (this is wen it is unavoidable to get your phone wet)

either bowl or bag, but don't try to turn it on for a few days, atleast 3. i'm pretty sure you can't short circuit anything if it's not on/ no electricity running through it

How do i check the water damage indicator?

and also i already turned the phone on once after it had dried for about an hour after the first time i turned it off, is all hope lost because of this?

Get a new battery possibly, my phone could have worked again but the battery gets fried as soon as theres water in it, and if you put a fried battery into the phone it will fuck the phone too. but definatly do the rice.

The water damage indicator is generally a sticker on the battery or inside of the phone, which is usually green, and when it is exposed to water, it changes color ( usually to red ).

okay, so i just turned the phone on, and now all the keys are fucked up. when i push the trackball down it pushes Q, pushing the end key pushes 36, pushing back is QA... etc. All the keys are fucked up. Any ideas?
