Read the book then saw the movie. Both were great, but as always, the books are always better. The movie was really good though. Great story line. The part with the naked people in the basement scared the shit out of me though.
I saw it. By the sound of it, I should have read the book first though. It was a good movie but it was so incredibly depressing that it was difficult for me to like it. Even though I wanted to very badly.
Yea it was pretty depressing, it makes you think abotu what it would be like to lose everything and everyone you have, which no one wants to think about.
The one thing I liked about the book was the lack of names for the characters. Always referred to as the man/father and son/boy.
are you guys serious? Nothing happen in that movie. Basically a guy and his inept son walk around the woods avoiding cannibals and look for food. The thing is I love post apocalyptic movies but this one was a huge disappointment.
i am about half way through and i can only read about 4 pages at a time. its so beautifully written, but sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo depressing. it's taken me a month to get that far.
im bumping this thread because i would also like to see the movie. from my understanding they change the ending in the movie? and it seems they portray the son completely differently in the movie than the book. just finished it again for a class and want to see if the film adaption stands up to the book. i imagine they cut alot out just because of how brutual the book is. also, to the kid who said carmac uses little vocabulary, re-read the first five pages and come back to me with a list of words you've never heard before, or delve into the language of the book, or lack of.
I never read the book, but I thought the movie was depressing and boring. To be honest when I went to watch it I really had no background about the story, I thought it was going to be action/drama film. So that could explain why I thought it was boring.
am i missing something? because i though nothing happend the whole time and it was a waste of money to rent it and a waste of time to watch it. i seriously felt like there was no plot.
