So this guy apparently has every frogskin released since 2007, and 9 vintage ones from the 80s and 90s. He won't mail them out to you, he only hand delivers.

a few kids in this thread have described a sunglass purchase as an "investment." It is not. An investment is something a person puts money into and expects to receive more money out of than the original sum he or she originally put in, such as a stock. simply buying an item is not an investment, just a purchase.

Frogskins are made of such shitty material, they feel so cheap. I own a pair, and love them but I also got a good deal on them, I could not justify paying retail for any of those. It prob cost oakley $115 dollars to actually produce all those glasses, such huge profit margin.

i found some lutzka frogskins in a store and bought two pairs. both retailed for 125 but i got them for 112 each cuz i bought two. i kept one pair for myself and sold the other pair a few days later on  ebay for 170... if i had held on to them till now i could  get 250 or more for them.. some oakleys ARE INVESTMENTS, and appreciate in value the longer you hold on to them. especially certain frogskins since they were semi limited

exactly i have had my flak jackets for about 2 1/2 years now. best sun glasses i have ever worn (they are not polarized). I have tried on other brands and the clarity doesnt even come close. I will be buying some polarized m-frames very soon though. they are work every penny.

For everybody saying that each frogskin comes out to about 500, I am pretty sure this price includes shipping.. and he is only hand shipping it himself. Also, he is including 6 Oakley Rep cases.
Plus, some of them must be way more than 500, like those Andrew Pettersons and some of the really rare ones with less than 100 made. Like the rainbow one and some others.
Not saying I would ever buy this

too each his own. But they do high velocity tests and and high mass tests on all of their lenses which many of the other companies fail due to making their lenses from glass. They also have the crispest polarized lense because they don't just sandwhich plastic films and bake the lense into shape which would abstract the clarity. they also do laser and color testing. where most lenses refract light exiting the lens oakleys directs it through in a straight line using wrap and rake to refocus the light.

It's just the time they put into what they do. A lot of people just buy oakleys as a trend item like the frogskins. which is fine too. Oakley makes great looking sunglasses as well. but its the technology and research behind them that a lot of people don't know about and the reason for their high price that some people aren't willing to pay. Where as all those gay designer glasses are strictly style and that's why their prices are jacked up.

I'm not saying oakleys are right for everyone. If you are going for looks and find something similar and only need to not squint on the way home in the car that you may sit on or misplace or something than yes a 2$ pair of sunglasses is obviously a better choice. But if your looking for a quality pair of glasses that protect you as best a glass can while giving you one of the best clarity on the market with great style, than it's definetly worth the money.

and volkl that was more of an expansion on what i said before rather than a rebuttle to you haha sorry. but yea i definitely agree they do put more tech and research into some glasses than others but over all the vision clarity is what your paying for in a lifestyle glass from oakley and that's where some other companies can offer competition.

haha and last thing.
I had the same attitude as a lot of people towards oakleys when i first looked into them even when I worked at a store that sold them. Then they had me do "oakley labs" which are everything from brand history to HDO technology, and you really understand what sets oakley apart. They could easily slap some glass in a plastic frame and call it a day. but they truly care about what they are putting out and it shows trying to teach people like me that have to sell them with the oakley labs thing

Still doesn't really take anything away from Oakley because Luxottica bought Oakley from the dude who started R.E.D cameras. All the research and shit goes into them, they just market the brand now. You know they're legit when the army uses them for their eye wear as does the NHL

first of all, if you wear frogskins that doesnt make you a tool. tools wear oakleys such as gascans or oil rigs because they saw rappers like lil jon or t-pain wear them. second of all, its wear not where.

He's actually missing one pair... My friend Dayzed rides for Oakley and his rep gave him a pair a few weeks ago that I believe only 10 were made, they weren't able to get the color fade correct in the frame, so they dropped the glasses. He was lucky enough that his rep got a few of them and gave one to him.
