What ever happened to Candide Thovex?

He was huge a few years ago and now he's off the map.

i know hes was in the redbull comp recently but what about movies, and xgames/dew tour?

Pretty sure after the back injury on Big Bertha he called it quits on serious park skiing though. But he did win a freeride world tour stop last session. Dudes a beast.

Really!? You didn't notice Candide Kamera 1+2? Or that he won the FWT? Just because someone isn't on the Dew tour and filming with Level 1 doesn't make them 'off the map', unless it's a shitty map.

he killed it last season!!!! ck2 was off the hook, he cleaned up on his 1st yr on the fwt, and won the linecatcher in france...  but, he told me in tignes that when he saw the pipe there, he was getting "ungry" again for pipe...  maybe we will see him back in the pipe again!!!!!  regardless, cand is the man, and no matter what he does, he slays it to the max!!!!!  personally, i hope he does more filming, because there is nothing more fun than watching him destroy a bc jump that you built for him!!!!!! well, except shreddin the pow to get to the jump...

Candide probably had his best skiing season this year.  The Freeride World Tour stops are the best contests in skiing, and Candide won the whole tour. 

Candide is the best he has ever been.  He has a very good argument as the best all-around skier in the world.

Legends aren't made overnight.
Was Candide a legend when he won X-Games big air in 2000? No. But what he has done since then (and will continue to do we can only assume) has made a lasting impact on skiing.

That doesn't make sense, in the past 10 years after the 2000 Xgames (obviously not overnight) he has become a legend, and he said he's been a legend for a decade. Which is true. But either way Candide is an all around amazing skier.

Candide is the man. He was my first favorite skier (that I actually knew about seeing as Jonny Mosely was the only skier I knew to begin with) until I watched his segment in Ready Fire Aim, my first ski movie.

nah buts hes been a legend for the past 5 years at least. saying hes becoming one is just crazy. he won x at what 17, dspun 7 chads at 17.

no doubt he's a legend, but i rmember the days when he competed at the level of Simon or Tanner. id love to see him tear up the park again like he used to.

no way. He's got 3 super impressive golds in X [all from different disciplines] and [probably] isn't on top of pipe or slope game right now. moving to more pow is a natural progression and we shouldn't expect anything else.
I threw in that probably because I have no clue what Candide is doing right at this moment... but I don't think he is on a glacier somewhere polishing his new doubles or triples.
