where to go next year

im a junior, so i really dont have the money to go out west next season. im in michigan, and i just found out abuot gore mountain. apparently its bigger than places like killi, and closer. anyone know anything about going there? i plan on going next february or something. hey tis beter than michigan

White is a sick mountain...however patrol is extremely strict, and the conditions always are bad.....always.

yea its not as cold in the midwest, but its flat as hell. i just wanna experience bigger mountains, without the cost of going out west. the parks here are good enough, im concerned about the actual skiing when i go out of state

dont go to ny, it sucks here, ice everwhere

it will be the same cost if not cheaper to go west, find a cheap plane on expedia or one of theose travel sites
and resorts have loding and ski deals all the time

Just live anywere in the bellevue to kirkland area. It is with 45min of Summit West, alpental and Summit Central, 2 hours from stevens pass and 1.5 hours to crystal mountian.

if you're looking for some *big* mountain terrain in the east, white and gore are two names that pop in my head.

i've been to white numerous times, about 6, for 4 days each time and i loved it. although its rare that you'll get a nice day there, the skiing is, generally, pretty good. Lake Placid, the nearby town, has a nice ambience to it and i really enjoy it. i can't tell you bout the parties cause i ain't over 18 and...you kno what i mean.

although the lift ticket you buy is good at both white and gore, i've never been to gore. while white is only 20 mins from lake placid, gore is more like 40mins, atleast from what i've heard. i would check out their websites to see what it's like.

all in all, that area is very nice. you will experience some more technical terrain (as in *big* mountain) but you wont find any good terrain parks.

i recommend that you check it out for sure tho.

gore is cool, if u want a park go 2 whiteface, and if u want a stellar park go 2 VT. gore has real nice glades there and some good steeps......anyone drop the 25 foot cliff thats roped off? im going to and im stoked for it

how do u have the money to go to the east coast but not the west coast it seems like there both far away from the midwest, just go to like Colorado, nothing on the east coast compares to the west coast, and NY skiing is icy and so is all of the east coast

i was at white face in dec 2 or 3 years ago after some snow. i allwes have fun there. but if u get there after new snow youll have a good time for sure.

New York skiing is ok if you live in the area but if your planning on coming to the east GO to Vermont. It is no comparison...and gore mountain is quite a bad mountain...i go there or white face every weekend because i live so close...white face has a way better park that gore...but yeah i would just try and go to some were in the west...its not really worth it...

gore in my opinion is better than whiteface except last year their park sucked they added 2 more parks this year so im not sure how it going to be..probably nothing spectacular..gore has the glades and steep while whiteface has the nice lifts and parks..gore has much better weather..if you go to vermont i reccomend Stratton and Mount Snow for park and only park casue the rest sucks..For some killer bumps and glades deff killy but its always crowded..for more of a powder/western mountain in the east stowe,mad river,and jay are the best choices...i dont reccomend NH-awful weatther and maine may be a bit far for you

i dont know if that will help you much..but all the mountains specialize in a specific thing..killy should also have some killer parks this year

at gore the park on sleighride may be pretty sick this year..judging on what they have up right now there gunna have a 30ft table,20ft,and a kicker then probably some rails and i dont know about upper sleighride year ot gore e gully but probably the same as last year...maybe there doing something good with their parks for once

If you have access to the west by all means go there. Snow on the east aint friendly. In the spring it gets better, but still the parks on the east haven't really been able to step it up to the lvl of the parks on the west, at least most of them. Stowe had a few nice booters, and loon and waterville are great with the rails, and waterville had a 60ft last year I think. Would love to see some more technical stuff though like wallrides, gaps to rails etc. You don't see much of that on the east.
