HELP: Seminar - Is the world too american controled?

most of the worlds pop culture is based in the US

the only problem with man is that he doesn't know how he ought to live. But there is a law of life. A law to live by. Not guidelines (commandments)..not suggestions (parents, schools), but a LAW. Just as certain as the law of gravity. The law of nature. Distroy diversity and face extinction. Increased food production = increased population. Starvation is natural. We have to start following the laws of nature and stop thinking we are exempt from them. We have to stop pretending we are gods and we were meant to rule the world and possibly the universe. if we continue, we will crash. we are getting close. As we eliminate species and diversity, we decrease the changes of anything surviving after we destroy ourselves. We are very close to eliminating all life on this planet forever. Something will survive, right? Well, we hope so. But one thing is certain. It won't be us.

The US supplies more humanitarian aid to the rest of the world than other countries combined.

i know its not a big deal, but i mean if you think about it, like everywhere you go people listen to american music, often they where clothes that are inspired by or trying to copy american trends, you know what i mean

you could mention the fact that the US never enters a conflict for humanitarian reasons (ie. WWI: US enters war after German U-Boat mistakingly sinks an american cruise vessle, WWII: US enters war after attack on pearl harbour). while countries like Canada enter a conflict in the interest of protecting people from aggression.

yeah, it was actually Canada that won WWII.

the united states accounts for 5% of the worlds population, but uses 50% of the worlds natural resources. each person in the united states produces on average 5lbs of garbage a day.

and what samck89 said above is not true. america does not set the worlds ideals for pop culture. that is an egocentric idea. hollywood is not the biggest movie industry in the world. bollywood in india (bombay + hollywood) has a movie industry that by comparison dwarfs ours) hong kong is also a cinematic force to be reasoned with.
