Anyone who knows a lot about cars/subwoofers please help

looking into buying 2 of these subwoofers:

i got a little concerned after reading the reviews because it says you need to play around with the subwoofer in the enclosure a little for it to get the right sound. i want to buy the best enclosures to try and get around not playing around with them. i want two seperate enclosures for them. here are my choices

dont get shitty subs like those.

Get some name brands. JL audio is what I would suggest because I've had great experiences with them, but there are many other good brands out there.

Check out crutchfield.com

check out 2 diamond audio d3's. or even 1. my single 10 in d3 slams harder than alot of dual 12's such as mtx and low end systems. the bass doesn't drowned out the lyrics either. best subs imo, and theyre not that expensive, my sub is also under powered, im only running a 150 watt amp, mainly because i need space in my outback for ski gear.

i have 2 10" pyle blue waves in my jeep and i love em, i got them new and i kinda had to do the same thing i played them real soft when i wired them in so the subs could break in and now they sound great

in my opinion, subs are the very last place you want to cheap out on. like everyone else said, i'd go for a little better subs.

also, what size amp will you be running? and i call bullshit on whoever said they're running a 2500 watt amp.

you actually think buying 37 dollar subwoofers is a good idea-

save your money- by a proper sub and amp- have a box built- and youll be much happier

or you can buy my setup

Hifonics Olympus 12- 1600 rms- 3200 max

Hifonics 25th Annaiversary edition 1600d amp- 1600 rms- it pushes 2350 right now running .75 ohms

BatCap 5 farad capactior

and the box - I think its 2.2 cubes -ported to 28 or 34 htz- I forget honestly-

There are two types of people buying subs.  People that just want LOUD and people that want good, bass-rich sound.  It's tough to get both out of the same system.

I used to run two 12" JBL GT series subs in my Celica.  It was loud.  Now I run one 10" Alpine Type-S.  My stereo isn't super loud, but it sounds good.

Your head unit is also very important.  Shitty signal=shitty sound.  High voltage pre-outs are a must.

all i know about subwoofers is that they are a money pit, they will destroy your car and they will make you look like such a douche bag that it will take people years to get over the fact of how big of a douche bag you were to have those.

i have to agree in the fact that i hate when people do that at stoplights and stuff. i tend to turn the music down when i get to a stoplight.

I keep mine at a level that I can hear it when on the freeway (doesn't matter if my window is open or not since my Bronco ain't exactly super insulated) but at the same time won't be so loud it starts shaking my mirrors.
