weight does matter but it also matters what kind of skiier you are, what you are mainly gonna use this ski for, and finally, what kind of stiffness you like in a ski. everyone's preferences are different. i have not skiied the ARVs but what i have heard, they are stiffer than most fat skis so if you wanna use this more in the park and on some hardpack while also getting some pow pow use out of em, i think it would be a good ski. the best way to know man is to just demo.
