Atomic sponsorship

yeah I could soon be sponsored by atomic, im going to go talk to the rep sometime at the end of next week after camp is over. It would be a grassroots sponsorship obviously. Im brining my comp. results and some other stuff to promote myself in hopes that Ill get it. Any tips on what I should bring or prepare for when talking to the rep? I want to make sure I have everything to impress.

As an industry insider (who works for Atomic actually), I can definitely tell you that while companies care about results, they care more (most of the time) about WHO the athlete is and WHAT the athlete can do for them- how he/she can spread the word, bring positive attention to the company, and ultimately benefit the company. Concerning your level of sponsorship, most companies would rather have a so-so athlete that is greatly respected in his/her community who can be a positive mouthpiece for them, rather than a skier who is totally sick but sucks at spreading the good word. Obviously, the best case scenario is once that combines both the solid results & a positive mouthpiece for the company, but hopefully you get what I'm trying to say.

Definitely let the rep know how you are committed to skiing but also your plans as to how you are going to spread around the Atomic love in a positive and beneficial way. Good luck!!

I was picked up by atomic for a year too! Well not really, sent in an edit and the local rep hooked me up with a pair of skis for pro-form. But I loved my atomics. Probably the best skis i've ever ridden.
