im lifeguarding this summer at our town's very lazy beach. sickest job ever. no one ever shows up so im making 10 bucks an hour to read, listen to music, or do whatever the hell else i want to do. anyone else in this situation?

Technically i'm still certified but I didnt lifeguard this year. I got paid 8 bucks an hour to obviously do nothing. Where the hell are you people getting paid over $10/hour? Definately shouldnt be for the city.

MUSTTT BE NICE, i'm on duty for 2 hours at a time, with a 30 minute break.. the lake is constantly full of people - usually 40 or more, many of which can barely swim. i make 8.50 an hour. don't get too jealous now

I'm a life-saver at quite a rough beach in Australia, but most of the people who come here know how to swim. We dont have internet, and I dont have an iphone, so most of my time is spent just relaxing and watching the beach, either from the tower or from the sand. Whats it like over in the US of A

nope it's 24 where i worked last year too... and i was just out of first year university.. its a pretty sweet summer job especially if you work at an outdoor pool. you basically get paid to tan.

I lifegaurd at an indoor pool thats in a motel. Pay isn't too bad and its always dead until nights. Done too much crazy shit to pass the time than i feel like typing

I lifeguard at my public pool and sometimes at a lake in upstate ny. Its a sick job, at my public pool I get 45 minutes on 1 hour and 15 minutes off, free food at the snackbar, let people in for free, and during my time off I can do whatever I want as long as I get back to the pool for when I have to guard again.

i make 12.50 to lifeguard for the Boys and Girls club. we go to beaches, that have their own lifeguards, and i kinda just act as another counselor.

I'm 15 and I'm life guarding, so I don't know if that's a standard age limit or not. But yeah, sickest job ever. Plus, a lot of the people that life guard are real chill. They are at the pool I work at anyway.

I worked as a lifeguard last summer, so I can impart some wisdom. Don't work as a lifeguard at an indoor YMCA. I got fired, but I really couldn't care less.
