do you think espn will have the stones to build a jump for triples? can you even imagine the ratings for something like that and the resulting montages hyping it...

Yeah I did see it and it was awesome, but what I was saying is that the jump at xgames isnt of the same size that he hit so to pull a triple would require it to be very forced so inevitably it would be pretty ugly. However I take your point and if someone did pull off a sick triple which looked casual as then they would totally deserve to win it.

yeah, i guess you got a point there, but dub front supermans do look pretty sick from a non-skiers perspective. i think in THEIR eyes a kang flip (dub flat) is not much different than a dub front.

I think they need to do what jon did at JOI a few years ago. 180 contest, 360, 540, 720...so on and so fourth. that would make it so much more fun to watch!

the problem with judging only style is that the trick is only stylie in your opinion, to others a trick may look like crap but to some its amazing. part of being a judge is to remove yourself from all personal opinions and judge strictly on the raw facts. this makes style contests have alot of grey areas and can cause people to get upset.
tech tricks such as dubs, trips, and large rotations are better to judge because its fairly black and white. such as (switch 10 will be beaten by a switch 14).
in conclusion the ultimate goal is a balance between tech and style. if two people do the same trick then style becomes a big factor in deciding who should place infront of the other.
