How long does your skull candy headphones last?

Dont care if this is a repost...
But I've gone through over 6 pairs of skull candy headphones in the past 3 years at college. Ive gone through icons, ink'd, titans, FMJ's and the longest any of them have lasted is 8 months. Now I wear the shit out them; everyday to and from class on the bus, when im working out, and when im on my computer (about 2 hrs on an average day). I know about their warranty deal, but I can get them off a website for the same deal so that isn't the issue. Usually its the cord getting worked over and I have to wiggle it around to hear out of one or both of the ears.

I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same problem and how long do your headphones usually last?????

i've had my icons for like 6 months maybe and the volume in one side is super crackily when it's all the way turnt up lawlz. but seriously, it sucks.

i have had 2 pairs of fmjs and 2 pairs of titans going on 3. one of the buds just keeps blowing after time, they are not built well.

my lowriders lasted about 3 years till they snapped, my icons last forever and are still going strong, my icon 2's however ive gone through 4 pairs in the past 6 months due to faulty wiring and bad speakers, and as far as my inks fmjs icon clips and chops they work just fine

my ink'ds fucked out after about 4 and ahlf months, jst randomly one day one ear went quiet and the other wouldnt work unless i wriggled the plug alot, bt then eventually jst carked it all together. i wore them everyday without fail bt i expected more.i gota new pair and theyr duin ok at the moment

the plugs are made out of a softer copper or arent coated very well or some shit. they wear out really fast, i usually only wear icons on the hill and they last me about 2 months of riding every day.

glad to see im not the only one. Love to sound quality for the price, but im starting to wonder if I should just drop $100 on some legit headphones with a long warranty? I mean for $20 tho skull candies are sick.

My G.I.s just broke yesterday. I had them for about 8 months and they recently started falling apart, but now sound only comes out of one side and I can't seem to fix it. Sick headphones, just kinda fragile.

-White icons- leave with laptop always sitting on them and pulling them out from inbetween the recliner couch's cusions, never had an issue

-blue icons- treat like shit, toss around, etc. no problem

-Hesh- only use to mow the lawn no real abuse, no problems

- to the many many pairs of earbuds  i'll list the ones i can remember

-white smokin buds, snapped the jack off (lol) in an airplane seat headphone jack while on a flight from burlington to phonix, pissed me off pretty bad

- black smokin buds, hanging out of locker and stepped on them with ski boots, not really their fault.

-second pair of smokin buds are sitting in my tool box becuase i've lost all of my rubber inserts, maybe they should stay on better maybe i should be more responsible.

-rasta buds, torn wire going into the plug

multi colored buds, still going strong since last spring (over a year)


and thats all I have to say about that

I've had so many pairs of skullcandys. Now that I've moved away from headphones to earbuds to ride in, they're lasting longer.

I guess damaged headphones is thew price you pay for shredding so goddam hard

man i've had mine since i went to momentum like 3-4 years ago, they still work fine. i dont crank the volume all the way up though so i dunno

try these for skiing. cost about the same as smokin buds, but they clip to your hat, helmet, or ear (pain?) so they dont fall off.

my icons lasted for about 6 months, my ink'd buds lasted for 2 months, i blew the speakers on them tho, and my lowriders lasted for 4 months.

I went through so many god damn pairs of those skiing. JVC Gummies for the win. 8 dollars and they stay in your ears and you can still hear your friends. I do like skullcandy's for planes and shit though.

My lowriders lasted awhile, wire brokeor something, sent them away, while later, I got a new pair, went to put them on over my head and they snapped. My mom's pair( same day buy as my lowriders) still work and i still use them.
My Pipe, the wire is faulty on it now and the plug prong comes out of the power thing. and My hesh broke on the extendable arms. So I sent them away along with my lowriders, got them back. month or so later, the plastic arm snaps, so they sit on my dresser. I plug my ipod into them everytime and thats my room stereo.
Also have used buds before. they last well. I just lose those damn rubber earpieces.


I'm checking out those sony's now

I rotate FMJs and Icons.
Last baout 3 - 4 months give or take a few weeks.
Only costs klike 3$ to ship em and only 2 week turn around so its not to bad.

Used my hesh's by my bed for a max of 3 hours a night for a year and after the wires in the cord came loose, the entire earpeice broke off the base. God they have the least durible products.

since the clips are on the same side as the part that goes in your ear, i think its only possible to clip onto your ear lobes, and impossible to clip onto a hat and whatnot, cus then the ear buds would be on the outside of the hat, which would suck

I've had a pretty good Skullcandy experience:
Smokin Buds #1: Over a year
SB #2: So far almost a year and still going
FMJ: 9 Months
3 Pairs of Icons: about a year and all still working
SK Pros: almost 2 years and still perfect
I don't really baby them at all but they've all held up fine for me so far guess im just lucky

Icons-Lasted about 3 weeks. using them skiing and at school.
Icon 2s-still going, but never ever use them
smokin buds-lasted a week and one bud blew out.

I buy Kicker Headphones now. Even the second cheapest ones(still cheaper than Smokin Buds) sound better, and last longer than the ons Ive had. I have had them for nearly a year now, and use them every day.

todays quality headphones/buds really suck. It used to be that you could depend on them working 5-10 years. I have gone through 3 pairs of $80 senheisser sports 2 ear buds in 9 months!!

I have the ink'ed ones and a pair of low riders.

Low riders- perfect not one problem.

Ink'ed- fucking suck i'm on my 3rd pair and i'm far too cheap to pay more than 20 bucks on headphones

My T.I.s just broke after 1 semester of college so about 5 months.I have also gone through multiple pairs of titans and ink'd buds. Skullcandy headphones are decent for the price but very fragile.

ive only had one pair blow on me i got abour 4 pairs and they all range from owning them from 3 years to a couple of months now (since christmas) never had a problem with skullcandys i never wear the buds though
