Quick Ski Boot Question BSL?

I was looking to buy new ski boots and had a question about bsl. I'm 5.8, 140lbs and have a 27/27.5 boot size, which is about a 9/9.5 shoe size. My foot is currently a 10/10.5 so I am looking for a 28/28.8 ski boot size. My current bsl for my boot is 317, what bsl should I be looking for? And correct me if I'm mistaken on any other information.

first off, go to a boot fitter
now that that is out of the way, it depends on the brand. a FT 28.5 is a 318 bsl, but a salomon 28.5 is a 3269if im not mistaken)

Yah I figured I would just go to a ski shop and have my foot measured etc, but it's the summer so it's not as convenient. But I don't know much about bsl, what is it and how is it measured compared to your foot, length, and size? Would you mind running me through a crash course? lol

bsl (boot sole length) is how long the bottom of your boot is. It is used to determine DIN along with other factors and is used in setting your binding.
