Grete Eliassen is putting out her own movie this year "SAY MY NAME" Are you serious? She couldn't get enough ski footage to make a decent two min trailer and we're supposed to watch a full movie of this shit? Who else thinks this could be the worst ski movie in history 30+ min of flailing and missed grabs. Are you serious?

I agree and its sick to see a good girl skier. However, even though its a girl no one wants to see an entire movie of stuff like that. You could just go to any mountain and see every single guy be able to do it.

Can't wait to see it. Why? Because I've never seen a girl that had the financial backing to star in, let alone produce a ski movie. We should all applaud Grete for pushing us another step forward.

Rogge, while I agree that it's cool a girl is getting her own movie, the whole 'money to produce a movie' means nothing more than she knows the right people.  Do you remember the 2 year epic follow up to Gwyne, produced by the one and only Anon ski rep, Anthony of H30 Films fame..?  Ya, neither do I, but it was well funded!

Eh... a dark spot on skiing. I do remember those days all too well.

You're right that it comes down to knowing the right people but how many people on Red Bull choose to include their friends and fellow female competitors in that project.

I just caught The Wind Surfing Movie II at Red Bull last week and if there's one thing Levi Siver (the Red Bull athlete behind the flick) isn't, it's selfish. That guy put his heart and soul into that flick and while I'm certainly not a windsurfing aficionado, it didn't take a rocket scientist to see that guy wasn't trying to make a vanity project.

One can only hope Grete takes a page from Levi's book.

IMO it would probably be better if she just put all the bangers in a 5 minute season edit rather than having a long movie with only a few shots that make you sit up in your seat.

Grete slays hard! The people and funding behind the project are perfect for this sort of film. If you're such a close minded person you probably will think it's lame because it's not a Level 1 or PBP movie. But honestly Grete is pushing women's freeskiing like no one else except for Kaya and maybe a few others. Not to mention Grete is a well rounded skier and I'm sure she'll shock a lot of people with her footage.

while i didnt find the trailer amazingly entertaining she really did do some pretty gnarly skiing. also i am interested to see how they make a full movie. i would be okay if it turned into a documentary of being a female in the ski industry in fact that would be interesting. or if they brought in other people in the industry. that would be cool too. but if it is a normal ski movie just showing trick after trick it would be really boring only seeing one person. and it would be boring if it were a male as well.

First, that trailer was pretty bad, editing wise.

Second, (to the op mostly) the fact Grete is sponsored and is able to fund this movie and have it entirely about her on the production level it is at, is saying something. Maybe instead of talking shit, you should applaud her in her efforts, because as far as I am aware of, this is one of the first movies of its kind in freeskiing.

Agree completely with Mike. Stoked for her and even more stoked to see that females are finally pushing things and getting some serious recognition in the sport. SHE GOES HUGE, you don't have to love the movie or her, but it's def a step in the right direction for getting more media time for the females who rip it in our sports.

I hope she does, I was pretty impressed by the trailer, you don't see a lot of girls charging that hard and I know she's got the park skills as well.  It doesn't have to be amazing ski porn wise either, just has to tell a good story or show how hard she works for things.
