Unlike the 3 posters above me, i actually do go to UVU, i commute 2 days a week from cottonwood heights and its not bad at all... takes me about 40 minutes and i just do all my classes on tuesdays/thursdays and have the remaining time to do whatever i want, whether its ski, work, bang chicks, etc... Its a good school for what i'm studying, (digital media) and IMO has a way better arts department then the U of U...
If skiing is important to you and you do decided to go to UVU i would not live in the Orem/Provo area, get a place in Sandy or Draper and commute to UVU (from sandy or draper would be 30 minutes or less) and then you can still easily get to good skiing as well...
the U of U is a good school too, but don't choose your school based on how close to the slopes it is..
