Germany is cool! I especially like the younger generation of people there, not really the older generations because they refuse to speak english (anywhere in the world they'll try to speak german, wtf is up with that)

I love Berlin, basically it's the capital of europe. It's a very liberal city. (Berlin is what Amsterdam was once)

Frankfurt does indeed suck as was mentioned. Hamburg is a very nice city aswell. Don't know Dusseldorf to well.

First off, don't be that douchebag tourist everyone hates. Try to educate yourself with basic information (how 24 hour time works for instance) before you go.

Make sure you can go with the flow, and if you get an opportunity that seems good/fun, take it.

If you're in a restaurant, you might have to ask for the check a few times, in Germany the tip is typically included in the check so waiters/waitresses can be a little lazier sometimes.

Euros are worth something like 1.30 dollars at the moment, make sure you think of that before you buy stuff. It's not as bad as when I was an exchange student in Hamburg (it was like 1.65) but it can still take a dent out of your bank account.

You might want to learn some basic German to help you get around. If you want to know if someone speaks English, say "entschuldigung, sprechen sie englisch?" which means "excuse me, do you speak English?" (my spelling might be off, it's been a while since I stopped taking German)

Electrical plugs are different in Germany, buy adapters here before you go for your iPod charger, laptop, etc.

Your cellphone most likely won't work over there (with a few exceptions), and if it does it'll be ridiculously expensive. So don't bother bringing it unless you contact your phone company about getting it temporarily switched over.

shut the fuck up germany sucks i took german for 3 years in high school and it seemed cool took a class trip their for 2 weeks of my summer last year... i went to a small town and some major cities food was decent but like the sights were dumb and ppl were homos and ppl dress like flamers its annoying.... anyways i asked about wat happened between 1939-1945 and my friend said almost killed a religion and the tour guide got really pissed lololol thats alright ... the trip was fun with my friends but the stuff we did was dumb... germans r idiots

whattt??? germany is awesome, it probably sucked cause you went on a class trip.  and german people are awesome.   you just gotta go to the right places.  but like everywhere else, its overrated, ive traveled alot and realised that nomatter where i go, i tend to like most of the U.S. better.

my friend did the nazi salute thing walking down a sidewalk and everyone looked like they wanted to kill him.  thats one lame thing about germany, if you make fun of their nazi past they get really pissed.  if someone came to the U.S. and started acting like a slave owner, id just lol.
