Honest critique of my Colorcorrection/grading

Made this edit a while ago!

Just wanted some opinions, I feel I couldve done something more/less..Not shure what though.. Btw just ignore the shot at 02:05min cause the blacks are crushed... I know. I feel that ski edits shouldnt have to much colorgrading, cause the white snow would make almost any kind of grading look unatural.. But some people can pull it of!

Good work!! You got some sick shots and the editing is awesome! One thing I noticed was the color throughout the whole edit didn't match up... dano if you were going for that or not. But with a few of the beginning shots its hard to see because of the exposure of the snow...? I dano if that makes sense but thats what I got out of it, other than that there are some real real baller shots in there!!! Keep up the fun edits!

thanks! Yeah, different cameras: t2i, 7d xha1 etc.. And the WB-settings on the 7d was fucked up at some of the shots! But thanks +k

I thought it was sick! Great filming, and the song really complemented your film. That first superman frontflip was primo.

I guess my only critique would be that some of the shots (like you said) turned out a little dull/under exposed compared to shots like the first frontflip. But over all, really great stuff.

Look forward to seeing some edits from you in the future!

That was sick! some shots were under exposed a lot but other than that I really liked it!

Yes I know some of the first dslr-shots are really overexposed.. haha already had you guys at 10/10, thanks

Overall I really liked it! Thought the song went well and created some good vibes for the edit and the colour grading looked good to me. Again, I think that a few of the shots looked a little underexposed but they looked like they were shot in the shade or in low light anyway. Solid edit!

What was the song you used?

I was going through your vimeo and came to the realization you have a t2i and 7D, why both of them? aren't they both the same video wise? I don't mean to change the conversation but I'm curious haha.

but like it wasn't all teal and orange, like all my fav hollywood movies? whats with that???!!?

but really, i thought that you did a quite a good job grading. definitely not overdaone, as you accurately got (dare i say it) natural-looking colours. that was real refreshing to see, nice job.

Yep, that it. I need two cameras that are the same video wise! Just one camera isnt enough for me when I need more angles. Love both of them!

i didn't even mind the shot at 2:05, granted the blacks were a bit crushed but it wasn't super detracting. The entire thing was very well done, colors popped pretty nicely, nothing was really overdone, and the snow stayed white! My only complaint were some of the shots were a tad bit over exposed and the snow had no details, but it was only in one or two shots and I forget where they were. Anyways, great job, looks like you had an awesome season!

As stated before, the colors were done very well- not overdone and remained natural, while still popping a little.

The first section of shots (flat rail pre-season) and a few through the edit as well as the final section in the shade all were very dark. In terms of post-color work, I think you could fix them up a little by just slightly bumping the mids, which would brighten the whole image, giving a little bit more consistency between shots and segments. The park shots on the sunnier days are beautiful though!
