DEUTSCHALND IS GOING ALL THE WAY.  yes it would be nice to have ballack, he is a huge help to us, but i dont think the team is better off without him.  he is the one that put us into the world cup.  and the lopss of muller is a hard one but we will pull through.  we can do this     54,74,90,10!!!!

such a great team. maybe its over against spain, but whatever.

they are the best team right now and thats more i could have ever imagined.


tough question with ballack. i would say that he is missed as a leader (serbia/ghana games) but not from a creativity/quality standpoint. imo, without him, özil, müller and all these players with that passion/fun for the game have more freedom than they would have with him. and apparently (i am only 21, so i dont know too much about pre-1998 or so) this is the best (offensive) german team ever.

Yea, his experience is missed, but, the rest are so young, so they are all getting experience, because next world cup it will be the same team as right now, with maybe not such a good klose, he will be older, but prolly still good. So they've got two more games no matter what happens, and the young guys are all getting the experience that Ballack had.......I do miss him though, his jersey is just hanging up on my wall....I see it everyday haha

i am normally very tolerant, but stop these WWI/WWII analogies. its sport. i am german, and i hate how the english press talked shit before the england game.


they actually thought its legitimate to call germans "huns" again, in a fucking newspaper. noone in germany would even try to say something like "tommy" in a newspaper. shit would hit the fan.

This.  Holland defence is working, just look at the Brazil game, they made maybe 1 mistake and that was the Brazil goal.  The English and Argentine defences were both poor (Argentines marginally worse) and the Germans played good counter-attacking football.  At least we scored a goal against the Germans (well technically 2 but whatever)...

The Dutch are playing a similar plan to the Germans with similar effectiveness.  I see the Dutch easing past the cheating Uruguayans and into the final.  Germans have a harder game against who will likely be Spain, but they haven't looked good at breaking down organised defences (Switzerland game) so Germans stand a good chance and are the form team alongside the Dutch.

Should be a good final all the same.  Here is too the Dutch winning it.

Germany is playing really well as a team and their unselfish play is paying off for them with GOOOAALLLS baby. Holland has hart baby, and a solid back. But one slip up is all it takes. If Germany can get by Spain (granted they beat paraguay) the winner of that semi will win the cup!

germany have placed better than holland for the past two world cups and last euro cup. i dont understand why the dutch are so cocky as they were outplayed by brazil and won in the end because of a bad mistake on brazil's side and then the brazil side falling apart, not because of their own good play. (although they played well) both teams have been getting stronger as the tournament progresses so it will be an interesting final if it ends up being germany vs. holland.

no, if it's holland Germany final then holland has it, they had robben on defense against brazil and thus he slipped up, he's not meant to be on defense, if their defender who got injured comes back then their back will be a brick wall and up front their just gonna get shot after shot after shot.

sparknote: defender coming back=holland world cup champions

just to clear things up. great wc so far from germany, better as i expected, i have to admit (even before the england and argentina games).

maybe they can go to the final or not, who cares? they are the best team in the WC, but most of the times, someone else takes the cookie.

I dont understand why Germany is acting all cocky because they beat Argentina and England after some bad mistakes by Argentina, and then that team falling apart, and then a bad referee decision against england, and then that team falling apart...

Holland played fantastic. You can NOT say it was not because of their own good play... that 2nd goal was brilliant, and they were a fucking wall in defense. Even when they were beaten, stecklenberg went fucking ninja on that shit ... They had so many great chances on offense in that game too... it could have just as well have been 4-1...

Holland and Germany play incredibly similar... in some respects, they always have... If those two meet up in a final, nobody can really make a solid prediction as to what will happen. Absolutely anything could happen with those teams and hwo good their defenses and attacks can be.

i think not having ballack has made them better. They aren't as individual based, but rather they play as a team. I mean they don't try to center everything around ballack, and it works out better for them.

I don't see any true germans saying anything about winning it all or even making it to the final yet, german fans are extremely happy with how our young team has played, but i don't see any sort of cockiness, unlike so many of my dutch friends who are already telling me about winning their first world cup and how they will win regardless of who they face in the final.

Germany worked Argentina today front to back, frustrated them with good defense and dominated offensively. Argentina did not fall apart, their defense was just never strong so they never had a great chance unless they scored lots of goals, which germany's defense made sure didn't happen.

Holland and Germany have both played very well and if they meet in the final i think it will be very well deserved and a great match. Germany seems to have a bit more offensive power, speed, and flare while Holland has a rock solid defensive core for the most part.

its just my attitude to be self-confident. say what your goals are, even if they are a little over the roof. you cant win if you arent reaching for the stars.



right now, as a german player/coach/offical/fan, you sound awkwardly shy and weird when you say "its not realistic for germany to win it all". thats why i like thomas müller (normally i have to hate him because he is younger as me and succesful as shit ;) ). he is 20 and says after the game that they can win it with this team and with the great fans at home.

this is my stance, better say what you want and sound arrogant as hiding under a rock just to be "politically correct".

they have to beat spain first, and angentina never stopped the ball, so people had all sorts of space to find passing lanes. do not expect to see that from holland. also, the dutch possess the ball in control a lot more than any of the teams the krauts have played
