i want to upgrade my laptop because it is way to slow to edit on. how hard would it be to add a new video card, and a faster processor? also is it possible to add more cores?
yes for all those questions. you probably wouldnt be able to do it yourself, unless you are pretty savvy with computers. go into a computer shop and normally they can order your parts and then they they put them in for you. i suggest that.
ya i know that stuff is possible for desktops and i was planning on having a shop do it. i just wanted to see if i could get an answer without driving to a computer shop.
could possibly looking at getting a RAM upgrade from crucial.com which is what I did which made a difference - however i still decided to go for a Macbook pro in the end for editing as I found that whatever upgrade I made to my laptp didnt make enough of a difference
I think the best thing you could go for would to be save up and go for a Macbook Pro. I have just done the same and once you get over the shocker of the original cost, it's deffs worth every cent! Especially if you're looking to primarily use it for editing they're really the best way to go I think.
You could get that refurb, but i think it would be smarter to by a 13inch new macbook pro with the 2.66ghz processor. Its basically the same thing except its more portable, cheaper, and new.
