First Drop Skate Shoes

Alright, so as some of you probably know, David Lesh was looking for someone to test First Drop's prototype skate shoes. I was lucky enough to be a perfect fit for the size offered, and I contacted him at the right time, so I will be the one testing them out.

I talked to David today and he will be sending out the prototype, so it should be here sometime next week. This thread is where I will post pictures, feedback and updates on how the shoes are doing throughout the next couple weeks.

Sparknotes: I'm testing First Drop skate shoes. Feedback will be in this thread. Stay tuned!

Both. I'm not the best skater, but good enough to see how they will do skating. Eventually, I'm supposed to bike in them too.

Yea aparently it's the only size the company would make the sample in. Which is why Lesh isn't wearing them himself.

Oh, I forgot to add that all product development is done by copping a product made by atleast two other company, but increase the price and lose the quality in the process.

I haven't seen shoes by Oakley or Garmont and I wasn't thinking about Nike.

and to all of you that are hating... let's see how the shoes are first before descisions are made.

hehe after seeing the jerseys and shoes it makes you wonder if product development even exists. companies need to have a little more respect for their customers and focus on specialization and development phases. putting an ugly logo on a shitty product will only last so long. first drop seems to be in a huge hurry to rush as many products to the market as possible.

Not yet. He put them in the mail last Friday or Saturday. Sunday and Monday the post offices were closed, so they should be here in the next couple days.

God, those shoes look like they should be sold at Walmart. If those are "skate" shoes the grip looks retarded and wouldn't skate well. Not to mention it's 2010 use a vulcanized outsole. I guarantee if those shoes were actually skated hard they would shred so fast. Give me a size 9.5 to test out and I'll put them through a real durability test.

I just got the shoes and they seem really good so far. I do however agree with some of you that the soles are thin. David Lesh also mentioned that. In my opinion, all skate shoes should have vulcanized soles. Much more durable and easier/better to skate in.
Other than that, the quality of the shoes are very nice. We'll see how they hold up in the next couple weeks.

seems like also no 'skate' shoes should have a seam on the outside of the pinky toe, thats just asking for trouble.
