Whats up everybody.

Im gonna be living in geneva for 4 months starting in mid august until mid december.

Just wondering what the ski situation will be like while im out there. Tryin to decide if I should bring my gear/film equipment. Wheres the best glaciers to ride?

Yes, you should bring your gear!

August, September, until mid October you will have excellent riding in Saas-Fee and Zermatt which is about 4 hours on the train from Geneva. I personally love Zermatt in September and October because there are no crowds, the halfpipe is in perfect shape, the weather is usually good, sometimes you get some powder, good times.

November and early December it kind of depends on the conditions. There is Diablerets / Glacier 3000 if there isn't much snow. Otherwise you're super close to Portes du Soleil and Chamonix, and many smaller resorts, where the opening dates really depend on the snowfall. Also Zermatt/Cervinia can open very large parts of the terrain in November, if conditions allow.

Definitely even more stoked to get out there. You sold me on bringing my gear for sure haha.

Yaa ive been to Saas Fee and Zermatt in the past. Real easy train ride to each from Geneva.

Id like to meet up with some shredders out there. Ill possibly have my camera gear so if anybodys interested we could put out some edits

Im live in Haute-Nendaz (like 1.5/2 hour drive from Geneva) our ski season starts mid-end November. and normally get dumped on beginning of december.

The park isn't that great as they don't seem to know how to calculate landings. But its part of the same ski area as Verbier but with much better vibes. The Freeride here is AMAZING.

i'm just back from saas fee, park was decent but was closed 2/6 days, snow was quite bad, but fun none the less!
easy lapping in the kicker lines 3xsmall jump in a row and 2medium and a big jump in a row...
big air was very forgiving, soft knuckle and deep landing so no worries with getting right speed under these rapidly changing snow conditions (skate rink in the morning and water skiing around 11am)
rails and boxes were there but didn't quite blew my mind, they were quite standard but fine none the less....

half pipe was quite good, although on hot days 1 side became slush rather quickly while the other remained solid ....

we had extremely hot weather and consequently bad snow (saas fee ride event was even cancelled because they couldn't shape a big air out of the snow)
but still i had tons and tons of fun on the glacier!
it was my first time on a glacier and i am sure to do it again next year!!!

Aww shit,

I hope they have enough snow for a decent sized jump line in mid august.

i think im headed to saas fee this weekend. (AUG 21-22). Anyone going to be skiing then? Hows the park?
