upgrading stratocaster pickups

i have mexican stock pickups in my highway 1 strat right now and i want to upgrade them. i lifting the pick plate and it has room for a humbucker on the bridge and middle pickup space and room for a single coil for the neck space. i was thinking maybe a humbucker single single or a double humbucker. i'm looking for a real classic rock sound, like zeppelin or jack black from school of rock. any suggestions?

You have room for a bucker in a strat, or would you have to router a bigger hole? The holw for the single should only be as big as the pickup.
But anyway, zep used gibsons, so if you want that sound, go for the 2 buckers. you won't get necessarly get the exact same sound because a strat and a les paul have very different constructions, but it should be somewhat close.
Just find out what the sound is that you want and find out what gear that the band uses. Also, lots of classic rock was played with a strat as well, so you should also consider buying another guitar.

hmm, well, they both use gibson. so you're trying to get a gibson tone from a fender. not an easy thing. Do you want to get all new pickups or just the new humbucker? id reccommend all new pickups. if you're getting just a new humbucker, id say get the seymour duncan '59 model. if you got all new pickups, get the '59 model at the bridge, JB jr. at the neck, and get a cool rails in the middle. I'd wire it so you have a 3 position switch, so you can chose the neck, neck at bridge, or bridge like on a gibson. then get a push-pull pot to activate the middle.
