I have been wondering how to do something in itunes for a while, and i cant find anything on the internet about how to do this. i thought maybe NS would like to help? karma will be given for any helpful answers, and also other people here may be in this very same predicament.

Problem:
When I download music from the internet or wherever, itunes starts playing them as soon as the download is finished and it has been loaded into the library. this is a problem because i am almost always playing music on my laptop, and sometimes i like to listen to long mixtapes or something. this causes my music to be interrupted, and also i lose my spot if i am listening to a longer audio file. does any one know how to stop this from happening? help greatly appreciated

depending on what browser you are using, i believe you can go into the settings, and then select the tab on downloads, from there you can change the settings on downloads. i know when i download something it is now set to ask me if i want to add it to my library or leave the file in the download folder.

tried this, and i also searched everywhere through the application settings. couldnt find anything to fix it

try deleting your browser like firefox and re download everything,

deleting everything and re downloading would do nothing, and no matter what browser i use whenever a new song is added to itunes it plays it. any other ideas?
thanks for the suggestion though.

what are you using to download? the only place that i download stuff from, that then immediately downloads it to itunes and starts playing it is "video to mp3", the youtube converter site. however if i torrent something from pirate bay it just downloads to the download folder and i have to drag it in. maybe your solutions is simply finding a different place to download music.

any .mp3 file i download from anywhere has this file. if i use torrents then it doesnt happen, but that can be a pain in the ass if there is a download button right there on the screen, and would probably be more annoying than the current problem. i also use safari mostly if that affects anything, but google chrome and firefox do the same.
