Don't wrap it in a towel. That's stupid. You need to remove the x-braces that hold on processors' heatsinks and replace them with regular bolts. Remove and reapply the dried up thermal compound. Then turn it on with a piece of paper blocking the air flow from the fans to the GPU and let it heat up for a few minutes to kind of reflow the whiskering flaws in the solder points.

This sometimes does the trick. If not, you can add a small piece of sheet aluminum .032" thick cut to the size of the GPU and place it in between the GPU and it's heatsink, again with thermal paste on both sides. This will work almost every time. A last option if none of this works is to take a heat gun to the board to try and fix that whiskering.

O I don't know about that one. I can fix the red ring but that's all I've dealt with. I would keep Googling around for that.

unplug the device, turn the device counter-clockwise 360 degrees. that should reset the system and fix it.

push against the centre button untill you hear a snapping noise( don't worry no damage) shake it gently rub visine on the electrical outlets plug it in should work good as new

Pretty good customer service there, just get it fixed and get a free month of live. Don't take no for an answer.

Use comments to the representative like "I thought enough of your product to put well over $800 dollars into your company (after live + games and such) and now that it breaks, you're NOT going to fix it?"
"If I knew how poorly built your machine was and has a customer service who won't even stand by their product, I would not have bought it."

They will do it for you, I use that rant on ANY customer service if I do happen to have a problem, works very well. Just be respectful and don't whine.

i dropped mine down the stairs... it worked after that... but i broke the video thingy so the pixels were fucked, i could see through walls n shit, only silhouettes (MW2) it was so weird. oh then it got knocked off a table and worked fine for a week... then E74. quite a hilarious few days.
