Free image editing software

Hi,

I'm looking for a free piece of software to edit my photos. I had to erase all my software from my computer (including my hacked version of photoshop) and can only get a new copy at the end of the summer. does anyone know of any software that could help me through the summer. I have heard of the GIMP software but found it a bit complicated.

what are u trying to do to photos..? gimp is like the only free software thats similar to photoshop

just need some fairly simple editing tools like saturation, contrast and panorama building. I guess i'll sit behind gimp a while longer and figure it out. thanks for the help.

GIMP is great but I prefer Paint.net. It's a great introductory to photo editing but also includes all the basic features Photoshop has (Filters, Magic wand, Layers, ect.)
