huge reason why i don't like soccer. i could never, ever bring myself to do that. just couldn't do it. even if i was hurt. and it's not because i'm trying to look/act tough, it's because i don't want my teammates to think i'm being a pussy and lose respect for me.
...no thanks. i don't care if it's taught or "part of the game". it's garbage, and not what athletic competition should be about. you can't convince me otherwise.
no. used to, not for a while.
and to EC: i was not clear enough...i respect the athletic aspect of soccer. i'd never be so ignorant as to say it didn't require hard work and immense skill.
that being said, i don't support that part of the game, and when it's such an integral part of the largest display of that particular sport in the entire world; the beautiful game; the most popular sporting event in the world, the one that only comes around every four years,...etc...i just don't stand for it. it should piss those high school/college players off that that's how their sport is displayed at the highest level and exposure it can reach (for the moment, at least)
if you want to find out who the best actor is, take up improv or enroll in an acting class. decide the sport, the ATHLETIC COMPETITION, like athletes.
