Kilometer vs. Kilom-eter

I was driving in the car the other day and I began thinking about the different pronunciations of the word kilometer. Some say "kilometer" in one smooth word and some split it and dictate the syllables more. Anyways I was just became curious of

1) Do you pronounce it "kilometer" or "kilom-eter"?

and

2) Where are you from? (Could this be a cultural thing)


...and then I found 20 dollars.

i think the best way to state this is: is your accent on the I or the O?

if i have been speaking a lot of french lately i pronounce it kilo-metre, if i haven't i pronounce it kilometer (one word). I am from southern NY

any frenchies do this?

i remember seeing signs for  both 90 and 100kmph when i was there... so i'd say something like 95-100kmph..

Nah I actually say it the same way as you I just didn't spell it the same because I thought we were only distinguishing between kil-oh-meter and kilom-eter.

"The 5" for suuuuuure. I don't know anyone who ever says "skrill" though. And "a grip" sort of went out of style a couple of years ago. But yeah you guys say hella way too much. In LA hella is a company that makes headlights. You guys started using "dank" to refer to stuff that isn't weed though and thats gotten down here in a big way the last 4 or 5 years.

But we still all think that you guys are just hippies though.

Guidos? In LA? Where does that come from? There aren't any guidos here. Its more like Mexicans, bros (but California bros you know what I'm talking about, with trucks and dirtbikes and SRH hats and shit), and pretentious blonde chicks with fake tits. I love Mexican food/culture though, and most of the blonde chicks don't get fake titties till they are like 40, so its cool.

Haha. there's plenty of guidos down there... I went out to some nightclub in huntington beach and all it was was, what you describe as bros (unfortunately we have them here too - least in the east bay area/sacramento region) and no shit, guido types. Like... mexicans/latinos with guido hairdoos and attitudes haha.

it was all quite ridiculous.

Ah for sure I could see that in Huntington Beach. We don't get those types in the valley.

They might have been Armenians though we get a lot of Armenians in Northridge and Granada Hills that are basically guidos. You can tell how rich they are by what year their 3 series is.
