Seriously, I recommend starting with Black Clouds and Silver Linings, and then Octavarium, then check out their earlier stuff. All of it is sooo good and just super fun to listen to because there is nobody in that band playing ANYTHING easy at any point in time. All the members are really good at their instruments, and a lot of the music is super technical, which makes it great to listen to.

yeah I know it's like saying "post electronic music". I'm really looking for good songs, whether its swedish black metal or melodic metal or what have you. not picky.
Opeth is awesome if you're into heavier prog metal, you should check them out just for how retardedly good they are. Still Life and Blackwater Park are their best albums.
Look at Carcass for grindcore/melodic. Necroticism is more on the grindcore end of the spectrum, and heartwork is one of the first melodic metal albums...both are ridiculously good.
Morbid Angel is fantastic if you're into heavier stuff, Covenant is my favorite album of theirs.
I could recommend more, but I'm not sure what you're looking for.
I smoked at this semi-friend's house and he turned on this metal group that was going all hard on the song and then he started rapping, but it was like super fast rapping and of course metal blasting in the background. Does anybody know what song, band, or w/e this could be?
Opeth is ver y good and has many different styles. Protest the Hero is arguably the best new talent right now. Nevermore. They are insane. I was blown away the first time I heard them. Or check out Jeff Loomis'(Nevermore) solo stuff. Absolute insanity. Anyways. That stuff is great.
