Macbook pro only has firewire 800?!?

fucking apple genius forgot to mention that one, and my sony hdr hc7 only has firewire 400. anyone have any suggestions on what to do? i know i could get one of the converters, or buy the card that you insert then plug into that. but ive heard some of those dont always work with the pros. recomondattions are very welcome.

Not really the Apple Genius' fault...you obviously didn't even look at the thing before you shoveled out a few grand for it.

Either way, this is like a $10 fix.
