Die Cut stickers.

So, I'm sick of having to pay for my stickers and want to make my own. However, I have a very rough understanding of how die-cutting stickers, etc. works. I've looked at a few machines but don't really know what to do...so...what do/should I do?

first of all you need corel draw ( or im sure anything else like it works ), design your sticker or trace the logo you want, fill up your sheet with whatever stickers you want, correct the dimensions of the page to the sticker paper sheet size you want, choose your colour - print. Once your done, peel the access sticker paper, put this special tape over top(kinda like masking tape but wider ) use a credit card/ anything simmilar and smooth all the air out, cut the sticker off of the sheet. Then you have your stickers. Real easy, just the printer is semi expensive.... but i say its worth, i make stickers on a daily basis.

Prontocuts sound so unlegit and the name sucks. Plus the guy on here "dan" or whatever is just an asshole all the time, great way to build up a fan base.

check out t-shirtforums.com man, poke around a little, there is a ton of information there. Cutting stickers is pretty much the same as cutting t-shirt vinyl you are just using different vinyl. They also talk specifically about stickers and making signs and stuff. There are a lot of reviews of different cutters and all kinds of troubleshooting discussion. Used cutters also sometimes come up for sale in the classifieds.

also related to my last post, if you buy a cutter then you can make t-shirts too. Just buy heat press t-shirt vinyl, cut your design, weed it out, press it on a shirt. Tons of tutorials and tips on that same website.

you only really need the machine, vinyl and transfer tape. you can download illustrator to trace your stickers.

Well I am a douchebag, so Im just going to tell you to piss off, I don't need competition.













JKay. First need a decent cutter, UScutter is the best for ALL of your die cutting supplies, they have it all. The basic line of cutters like the Pcut and what not are just fine for starting out, albeit the blade holder can screw up some times, just maintain it and clean it and it'll be great.

You can also check out UScutters ebay site and get the cutters for DAMN cheap, I recommend that. Most if not all cutters come with really simple software, like sign blazer, it will take you like 30 mins to figure out of you take your time and read the manual.

As far as how cutters work, its just like a printer. You send the file it cuts, you weed it. Ofcourse you have to set the proper blade depth, some people think the blade should stick out alot, this is a very common mistake, the blade should only stick out HALF the thickness of a credit card, barely visible.
