Plexiglass for a box surface?!?! good to use? and how to cut?

i had a 4 barrel pvc rail...but didnt properly attach the two middle rails, so the pipes poped up some, and i tore them out.   its fine to grind like that, but i wanna make it less sketchy and all. 

i got some free plexiglass from work, its 1/8th inch thick, and theres enough to fill the whole  space.  but i dont know how to cut it without cracking...and not sure if it is even a good idea to use it...will it just crack when you land on it?

also, would you just attach with liquid nails and pressure? or can u predrill the plexi and hope to pludge the screws deep enough without breaking the glass??

it will probably crack when you use it, but either score it and clamp it between two pieces of wood then snap it or put a wafer wheel on a circular saw and cut it that way. a wood blade will crack the shit out of it.
and your best bet for attaching it is to liquid nails it then countersink some screws.

but its just going to crack anyways.

yeah, shoulda searched it...but was in  a hurry and didnt...and yeah kinda figured the cracking...hmm back to the drawing board

i have a friend who uses 3/4 inch plexiglass on his boxes and it doesnt crack cause its very thick and counter sunk. he gave me a sheet to build a box with and i can let you know how it personally works for me

I made a box with 3/8th in thick HDPE and made countersink holes pretty easily but I don't think it would work with anything less than 1/4 in

Yeah don't get anything too thin, I contact cemented puck board that was like a millimeter thick to a rail and box and didn't hold too long, I'm stumped as to how to put it on again.
