Theres a univerisity in washington dc called howard which first of all sucks, but basically you cannot go there unless you are black. This seems kinda unjust in my opinion. i mean what if there was a university that you could not go to unless you were white?

I live in DC, this isn't true. It looks a little sketchy but its hardly dangerous (based on opinion). Its a pretty good school and they have the best homecomings of all time.

yes sir. and +1 for howard homecoming haha. honestly the homecoming is one of the biggest DC social events, as well as one of the biggest events in the black community. even though Ludacris never showed up like he promised hahaha

started to apply for a financial/ economics scholarship at my school, when i went to talk to the administration about it i was told i could not even apply because i was not a "student of color"

yeah, that may seem racist, but i am sure if you look at the fine print it says it is reserved for students of color, which is completely legal. a scholarship is a private institution and has full discretion what to do with their money. it is the same thing if I applied for a scholarship reserved for people with the last name smith.

just making a point and i totally understand that, an individual entity has the power to do as they chose when it comes to things along these line,

the only thing i was getting at is that america as a society is constantly on the persute of equality, when little things like this arise, it seems like we're regressing as a whole...when your judged on your color, whether it be black white, yellow, brown, or purple for anything wheather in the private or public sect it seems wrong in my opinion

they have rewards in my college reserved for students that live in a certain county, which gets waved away when no one in that county is in the college.



But you have to admit there would be an outrage if there were a scholarship for white students.

*Im not complaining about not being able to apply for certain scholarships. Its not a big deal plus I have no problem getting other ones.

sure. and if we lived in a country where EVERY other possible advantage was on the side of blacks, then if there was a scholarship just for blacks, it would be an outrage too. but thats not the case at all. seriously, try to name me 2 advantages to growing up black rather than white in this country

it's not reverse racism. there's nothing in the definition of racism that says it's specifically whites hating against blacks or other races.

in my opinion, blacks are the most racist by definition. the majority walk around with a false sense of accomplishment and think that everyone is below them.

actually, in academia (you dont have to side with academia 100% in all cases but) its pretty widely acknowledged that "racism" as we talk about in this country specifically means against institutionally oppressed groups. so you cant really say a black guy is being racist in the same way a white guy can be racist to a black guy. aside from splitting hairs with terms and definitions, you cant argue that there is a lot more power behind white-to-black racism than vice versa. you get what im saying?

1) i was talking about being a minority vs being white but no big deal lets not squabble over details.
