I searchbared and found some threads on these skis, but none really answered my questions. I am seriously considering picking up some Armada El Reys for next season. My first question is, are they worth the money? As in like the durability? My second question is how it rides in park AND big mountain. I am really looking for a ski that rides well in both areas. My last question is if anyone knows of some better skis that are around the same price that can do both park and big mountain. Thanks NS!
i have the 08-09 El Reys and i dont imagine they have changed much structurally since then, they are a great all mtn. ski due to thier stiffness. Ya can still muscle out nollies and such after they break in. They can hold thier own in park, good on jumps because they dont wash out easily. Durabilty wise i beat the shit out of them and they still ride great. Never ridden them in much powder (i live in the midwest....great on ice though, ha)
They are legit skis, and really light- TJ won a slopestyle comp on them a few years back. Probably not the best choice for big mountain because they are on the narrow side, but they'll be great for park/all mountain for sure.
