i watched most of it and it was definitely sobering to think that there are countries like Colombia where you can be killed for something as ridiculous as scoring an own goal
what was so intriguing about it was that it was on some level it was the drug lord's money that brought the national team to the level that it was, and it was escobars fields and his help of the poor athletes that made the team what it was, but it was also the violent conflict brought about by escobar that eventually ended the sport-the whole team quit after Andres Escobar was killed, and the team has not qualified since...could you imagine going to play a game after hearing about threats on your families lives? no wonder they lost to the u.s., the nerves must have been insane.
