Longboard vs. Regular skate deck.

Ok soo im in the market for a board to just cruise on. I used to skate so i feel comfortable on a skate deck. I rode my friends long board and it felt werid but i guess i could get used to it... And i want it to be kinda cheap so help me out alittle here.

i will agree that there are FAR fewer tricks to do longboarding, but there are some pretty sick ones. its just a completely different focus
