Just for anyone that hasn't used their jacket in somewhat dangerous temps-
I was up at Beech Mtn, and it was the coldest that I've ever been in North Carolina. At about 7:00 PM the air temp was around or below 0 and there were wind gusts of 50mph+. I had a hoodie on under my jacket, but obviously I was still insanely cold. I heard a few people got frostbite that night, and I think the only reason I didn't is because the saga jackets this year are so damn windproof. My face got cold from pow/wind though:). I'm not even 100% sure what the air temp was that night, but the next morning they opened one of the lifts late because there were single digit temps at the top, and it felt a good 20 degrees warmer inside the lift house (no wind was getting in it the night before, so yes, I can compare the two)
Sorry if I bored you, but if you've ever been so cold that your muscles feel like they're shutting down a bit and you're stuck on a lift, you should understand why taking that wind factor out of the picture is so wonderful.
