Copper needs to redesighn their jumps

watching the alt games competition it was getting pretty obvious that the jumps at copper mountain suck.

Everybody fell.  I have heard people complain about the jumps at copper mountain as well how they get bigger as you go down and its hard to judge the speed.

I think they should set up some true tables somewhere on the mountain. Step down jumps suck compared to true tables in my opinion and coppers are no exception.

Does anybody remember the true table they used to set up at the canyons in the flat area in the middle of their park? That was so sick i dont know why tabletops aren't the standard type of jump at terrain parks everywhere

So I'll never say that Copper has an amazing park... The "mini" park builder/woodward summer builder got Terrian Park builder of the year, and this blows my mind. But as for the Alt Games: Last week of season = slush fest... the speed for the jumps changed every single lap through the park. It was a crap-fest.

never been there so all i can add to the discussion is step downs suck. i wish true tables/stepovers were the standard in parks too but a lot of people say its just cause they take way more snow to build. but id rather 2 really nice, solid sized stepovers than 4 or 5 smaller shitty step downs.

copper usually has pretty decent jumps. Are they are best in the country? Definitely not, but they have some nice shapes that are between a table and a step up. I like them personally. However, I really don't hit anything bigger than 30 ft any more so maybe i am not the best gauge.

There jumps have absolutely no lip... This might be because I ski breck all of the time and there jumps are super lippy but copper is no where lippy enough for me

They need to put the park on a steeper run, it's too flat creating speed issues.

I didnt mind Copper's jumps. I never hit the two biggest on the side because it snowed almost every day we were there and speed was hard to get. But the pretty big 3 line on the right was fine except sometimes it was hard to keep speed for all 3 jumps. And I dont know what people are saying about stick rails I thought they were buttery.

Fun Fact: Coppers Catalyst full time builder = 1 of Timberline's Summer builders. So Windells and other parks on mountain are built by the same dude who builds Copper. The park manager here is the dude holding the park back unfortunately.

Ive always liked copper's big line. and Yes the jump do progressively get larger. They do this for the pure fact that you taking speed into each jump and when you land that speed is carried and you get accelerated through the landing. Meaning if they didnt build each hit progressively bigger (like breck's) they people would be over-shooting the bananas outta them. Nothing better than going full speed into a jump and knowing that if you just go straight, youre good for the landing.

;) I do love Copper. But when it comes to park comparissons in the county... it just doesn't stand up to Breck or Keystone. We're like 4 years behind... the park manager just won't approve anything the crew wants to do. Anything cool we had this year was built on nights when the manager was off so they could accomplish things behind his back.

Example: Copper's old copper sign that wound up in the middle of Catalyst... not approved but the thing weighs like 7 tons, therefore, not going anywhere.
