i like the idea, but say a political thread was made, which most turn into a shit storm. it would get rated badly or really well simply based on opinion, cool idea but not really necessary
I was just thinking that this would be an awesome, and before making a thread on it, used 1337's little trick of googling "site:newschoolers.com + search item", which worked splendidly.
Anyway, I think it would be really nice because it would be an easy way to check if a thread is worth the time to check out. I know it doesn't take long to click on the thread and scroll through it a little bit, but still it does take some time and it adds up. If the thread has a rating of 0, people could just not waste their time clicking on it and then reading a bunch of people informing the OP about how stupid he/she is.
Also, many threads that make up the NS culture fall to the bottom, buried by the sands of time. If there was a Top Rated threads section, everyone could easily access masterpieces that should be timeless.
I think that it would help cut down on kids posting stupid stuff because their thread would get a low rating, leading to less people looking at it and replying to it. When they see their stupid thread has fallen to the bottom, hopefully they would think "Imma stop posting stupid stuff because last time I did everyone hated it and no one looked at it."
So everyone can consider the idea, it's a feature that I know I would use all the time.
Its funny... we've had so many ideas building up over the last two years its freaking crazy. We just spent so much time on the video system that it seems like we haven't launched anything new in forever.
Next up is the final pieces of NSTV, which I think you're going to love.
Then we're actually going to teach you guys how to use all the new stuff, and I think you'll really like it.
i have a 10 gig/month download limit at college and right now i manage to balance it out, but if you make the nstv section even better, i think i'm gonna have to hack into my neighbor's wifi :)
