Neighbor's new car - 2010 GT3 RS

A local guy in my small town just picked this car up last Friday. He has a very good appreciation for cars and has raced GT3's with his son in the past. It is one of my favorite cars, hence my creation of this thread.

Such a sick car. One that was completely murdered out ripped by me on the highway yesterday. Not sure if it was the exact model, but looked damned near the same. Nearly did the same thing as the quoted picture.

That is the stock paint and spoiler for an RS model, it only comes in about 4 color choices( No longer green or orange). The car is a track car, and is going to be used at a race track primarily, the spoiler actually serves a purpose.

Its not really a track car its just a super lightweight version of the 911 GT, its intended for road use.

RS means racing sport. Come on, the GT3 RS is specifically designed for track use, but wanted to comply with the legal rules of cars on the road. It has that ridiculous wing on there for a reason, along with the 40 or 50 lbs they dropped with carbon fiber parts. The European one comes with a roll bar, how many street legal cars can you name that come from the factory with that?

"The American version of the RS has a standard rear window (not plexiglas) and the smaller 911 fuel tank to comply with rules of SCCA, Grand-Am, and IMSA."

No I agree the wing is there for a reason, its just not really a track car. A track car would have only one seat and windows that don't work and such. Funny story about roll bars, I was test driving Mustangs a while back and I asked the guy if the standard ones have strut bars under the hood or just the GT ones and he responded with "no only the GT but you aren't going to be flipping it anyway right so who cares?" I was like.....uhhhh, and had to explain what strut bars were for. The car salesman thought it was like a roll bar for the engine or something. I facepalmed lol.

Watch the top gear episode on the GT3 RS, I believe it only comes in white, second of all, watch it drive, you'll realize it why it's called a track car...

If your going to spend 200+ thousand dollars (could be wrong on price but I'm taking an estimate) on a car, you could atleast get one that's unique. No hate because Porsche has achieved so much with there cars. They are incredibly well made and are very fast. But, they all look fucking the same. You can own the cheapest Porsche (Boxter I believe) and it will look, at first sight, as say a cayman s. That really just pisses me off. I'd rather buy like a Nissan gtr and tune it up or something.

damn you are stupid- you could of at least said the 911- that model range at least looks similar to the untrained eye- but thats the great part- you can have a gt3 or a standard carrera and the average onlooker wouldnt know the difference except for the aero package-

OP-now if your neighbor purchases a GT2RS- then I will be throughly impressed

lol this is twice the car a GTR could ever be. they are very fast and good for the money, but definitely not much of a drivers car. plus in terms of looks its nothing special, it just looks like a big evo 10.
and i do agree that all porsches do look too similar, but a gt3 rs, gt2, or turbo always look sooooo much better than the baseline 911's.
and the point of owning a porsche is not to have something unique, the point is that your buying possibly the best car you can get. if you want something cool looking and unique, you buy a lambo, if you want a real car you buy a porsche.
