A new American government? The Obama admin has been in office for over a year, Congress has been controlled by the Democrats since 2007, and even though they had a super majority earlier this year (before Scott Brown,) they still didn't get anything done. Even when something happens a year into Obama's term, you still find ways to blame it on Bush instead of getting on Obama for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING thus far to remedy the situation. This bumbling fool has bungled the spill beyond anything Bush did with Katrina...Obama and his administration has consistently blocked Gulf State Governors from dealing with the spill, refused federal aid early on. After something like 20 billion gallons of oil spilled into the gulf, over a month after it happened, he finally decided to sit down with BP execs....for 20 minutes before taking an hour long lunch with Joe Biden. He would be fine if he would stop trying to pencil in his relief plan between sessions at the golf course. It's ridiculous, even Bill Maher-the extreme left wing stooge-is fed up with Obama's tepid response on this one. Just looks at the citizens of Louisiana, they have ranked the fed response to this lower than Bush's response to Katrina. And this personal responsibility you speak of...what the heck are you talking about? The Republican party didn't do shit, they have zero responsibility for this spill. Meanwhile we have a President who can't even coordinate the multiple government organizations down there trying to grab power and take over the clean up. Oh, and his speech...what a DOOZY. Here are some quotes for your reading pleasure.
From CNN:
"President Obama's speech on the gulf oil disaster
Tuesday night was written at a 10th-grade level, which, according to
analysts, may have gone over the heads of many in his audience."
And the Right Wing Media Conspiracy, MSNBC:
Tuesday night's speech from the Oval
Office of the White House was written to a 9.8 grade level, said Paul
J.J. Payack, president of Global Language Monitor. The Austin,
Texas-based company analyzes and catalogues trends in word usage and
word choice and their impact on culture.
Though
the president used slightly less than four sentences per paragraph, his
19.8 words per sentence "added some difficulty for his target
audience," Payack said.
He singled out
this sentence from Obama as unfortunate: "That is why just after the rig
sank, I assembled a team of our nation's best scientists and engineers
to tackle this challenge -- a team led by Dr. Steven Chu, a Nobel
Prize-winning physicist and our nation's secretary of energy."
“I thought it was a great speech if you’d been on another planet the
last 57 days.”-Uberdouche Kieth Olbermann.
