Damn. Boise is leaving the WAC for the MWC. CU is joining the PAC 10 too. I've heard rumors of it being named the PAC 16, but PAC 12 would make a little more sense. PAC whatever will be a killer conference.

pac 16 is dead. too many of the big 10 schools were pussies, and so its a pussified pac12. not like i cared all that much, but just sayin

well the biggest move was nebraska to the big 10(12).

they need to rename all these conferences with numbers in the names because they are all wrong now.

but colorado and utah going to the Pac 10(12) will probably cause a split into divisions and a conference championship. and will finallly give the Utes a chance to play for the national title. also opening up recruiting doors for the utes and will bring in big $(biggest reason for the move)

obviously this was the Pac 10(12)'s backup plan as who would not want that cash cow(no pun) Texas in their conference.

it's gonna be awesome. i've heard they're going to go into a north-south division, with north being UW, WSU, UO, OSU, Cal, and Stanford. South would then be UA, ASU, USC, UCLA, Utah, Colordo.

It'll definitely be a move up for Utah. They've already shown they can compete with Pac-10 teams as they are 7-1 against them.

Hopefully Utah still manages to play BYU every season. I'm sure they will though. Kinda sucks for the MWC. They gained BSU, were hoping to make an eventual push for an automatic big, and then Utah bounces. Still good though.

Im just glad we're still in a BCS conference, losing Colorado is no big deal since they have sucked at every sport for the last decade, and Nebraska has a lot of fan support but they haven't been good for an equally long amount of time.

I wouldn't be so excited about the Pac 10 having a conference championship game, all its good for is potentially taking your conference's best team out of contention for the national championship

No doubt. They were far too good to be in the WAC. Although, as a Fresno resident it kind of makes me mad to watch a team that we were once better than grow past us. We should have been keeping up with you guys. But the Bulldogs are going to rape the WAC without Boise.

utah will be one of the top teams in the conference next year. the only team i definelty think will be better is USC.but with all the shit they are going through right now as a program and with lane kiffin at the helm who knows.oregon beat utah last year in a non conference game but oregon has had off field troubles and i doubt they will be as good this coming season. CU has not been competitive in football since the early 90's.

The only thing I'm worried about is Cal losing its annual trips to LA to play USC and UCLA. Those games are HUGE for us, seeing as they are the 2nd and 3rd most important rivalries behind Stanfurd... and seeing as we've downright dominated them since the dawning of the Tedford era, the UCLA and USC games have been the most intense. If we can keep our annual games against those guys, then i'll be content.

I am excited for Utah and CU though. They bring another dimension to the conference, and make it a bit more interesting. Also, Boulder is very very much a Pac-10 style campus with the likes of Berkeley, and Eugene... I dont think it fit very well in the big 12. Places like College Station, Lubbock, Stillwater, Lincoln, and Manhattan are not exactly anything like Boulder.

Salt Lake City just opens up a whole other TV market too... not to mention, the Utes totally deserve a spot in the pac12. They've been scheduling games against pac10 teams for years... and I've seen them win wherever they've played... They beat my bears last year in the bowl game. I'm glad we'll be getting revenge sooner than I thought.

Maybe Utah and CU can help bring D1 hockey to the Pac12 as well once the economy gets better...

Maybe even pac12 SKIING! seeing as every school is within about 4 hours of skiing now, it would actually be somehow possible - especially with the advent of Snowflex.

The Utes are 52-90-3 against Pac 10 teams. Nowhere near great, but have had recent success with a 4-3 record under their most recent coach.

No one really knows what the conferences are going to be. The ones you state (which, yes are a rumor and have been talked about) wont go through because USC, Cal, Stanford, and UCLA will no let that happen. They wont let them split divisions like that.

The Utes will be good in the Pac 10, but that will mean fighting for the top half of the conference with Oregon State, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, U Dub, and of course USC.

Great move for Utah and as a life long fan of west coast college football, im stoked for it.
