Heli Skiing in Alaska?

has anyone here on NS gone up to alaska for some heli skiing? how much did it cost? what company/touring guides did you use. any information will help me out. i really want to go next season.

seaba in haines is legit i heard. also check out chugach powder guides. google both of those

Go search on the TGR forums (or use google to search them), there are tons of trip reports from each heli outfit with pics and info. Probably going to cost around $5k/week plus getting up there. Other ones to look at are Points North in Cordova and Alaska Heliskiing in Haines.

SEABA had some great deals posted this past season actually. Also forgot to mention, if you just pick a week and go up you coudl get skunked on weather and not even ski (or ski 1 or 2 days), so you'll see the advice is to go for at least 2 weeks and do some stand-by so you get up when the weather is good. I haven't been yet, but I plan to in the next few years, and want to go up for at least 15 days to ensure I get at least 5 or 6 solid days in considering how expensive and pain in the ass it is to get there.
