Sliding gloves

What do you guys use to make sliding gloves for longboarding? Is it anything else besides just work gloves?

Plastic cutting boards, you melt it on one side with a lighter and then stick it to the glove.

I used your standard mechanics glove, got free corian tiles from home depot, then used velcro to attach them. they eventually fell off so i gorilla glued them back and they've been good to go since

heat gun and hot glue works best. also, as a side note, make sure you get gloves that have a fabric type palm. nothing leather or synthetic, the pucks will fall right off. my buddy brian bishop put this video together, it should help alot.

Not mine, but same thing, and you can cut the cutting board into whatever shape you want, I have a bar on the top of my fingers and a thick pad on the palm. You can cut the board by melting it with some hot metal (we used a machete) or by sawing it.

Supposedly there is this plastic used for kitchen counters and you can just go nab a bunch of free samples of it from Home Depot and it works like a charm. Go on silverfish there are def a couple threads about it.

Home Depot is the shit. Never had a problem there with customer servire, and they are always extremely helpful with whatever I need.

We are trained to make sure that the customer does not leave The Home Depot mad no matter what. If something's not ringing up we will usually just give it to the customer.

I do actually, even closer than home depot by about an 8 minute drive. We have always had better luck with Home Depot, especially for electrical supplies.

Lowes is still good, but I just prefer Home Depot

i guess its all a matter of preferance thn. you say tomatoe, i say tomato, in my town ive just had much better luck with lowes, younger people working, more knowledgable. on this subject tho, i heard a crazy rumor once that lowes is actually owned by an ex-wife of the CEO of home depot, and everytime a home depot goes up, a lowes is trailing right behind it within a matter of months. does anyone want to confirm this or am i just spewing nonsense?

It depends alot on local manager of the stores near you, the home depot where I live sucks, everything is unorganized, its messy, while another one that I've been to in another city was super nice adn way better then that local lowe's, just depends on managers really.

there 20 bucks for a good pair. if you actually longboard it's worth it. cutting board slide gloves scrub a ton of speed, imo.

we have home depot and lowe's directly across the street from each other.

i just bought some cutting board and cut up 4 pucks for each hand.

1 palm
1 thumb
1 across tips of middle and index
1 across tips of ring and pinky

gloves are generic suede work gloves.

i first tried melting them on, didnt work too hot so eventually i ended up attaching them with a combo of apoxy and melting. they work great!

I used my old bike gloves, industrial strength Velcro, and hdpe (puck board).

works very well, you can get a huuge strip of Velcro like a 4ft X 4" long, just put one side of the velcro on your gloves, and the other on the hdpe and stick em together and you got slide gloves.

they're basically synthetic granite. they slide really well on concrete and pretty much all types of pavement.
