I don't really see why everyone hates on Ronaldo so bad... sure he dives sometimes but i've seen a lot worse in the world cup so far. Other than the occasional dive his dribbling skills with the ball are ridiculous, he's pretty damn good at getting around people and his free kick is insane. I mean did anyone see his cut in the ivory coast game and then letting off a 106 km/h shot?

Thank you so much for saying that. i just watched that game again, and Ronaldo flopped everytime somebody got near him. Sure, hes good, but needs to learn from Drogba and Rooney and how they play, and stop being a punk. i'm sure hes got the strength to body someone off the ball instead of fall over everytime.

George Best was a fucking beast... He'd go out partying all night, then he'd facewreck everyone whenever he touched the ball.... and he quit top flight football for a few years on his own terms, in order to get his act in gear... He had integrity, he had insurmountable skill with the ball... and he would taunt defenders by basically saying COME AT ME BRO! and then he'd blast his way past them with some ridiculous move on the ground... then he'd come back, and give them a 2nd CHANCE to stop him... and he'd just curbstomp them again and go score some crazy goal. If I could pick to see one player in the history of the sport play again... I'd see Georgie boy play...

Just watch footage of the man... he was utterly brilliant, and one of my favourite players of all time.. Right up there with the likes of Pele, Larsson, Zidane, Shearer, and Cruyff.

Word. Cantona was awesome... How France left him off their 98 squad baffles me... Interestingly enough, he's basically given France the finger ever since, and instead gone for England.

That said, had George Best ever had a shot at the world cup finals... the would would surely know a lot more about that dude... He murdered everyone during the 60's...

i love cantona, despite the fact that he was a manc...but the whole france thing is his own damn fault.

he had the team, and managed to not qualify for the 94 world cup in the worst manner. (needed to win or draw, and somehow lost...) Then he had to go and kick the crystal palace fan, which got him banned from everything for a damn long time. During that time, a young man named Zidane started playing for France, and took over as playmaker. By 98, the squad was close-knit, doing fairly well, and there just wasn't space for canto. And i'd say they did alright without him...winning in 98, and then in 2000. Though the team would have been unimaginable with him in it.
