So I make hats (beanies, flop hats, tam hats, face masks, baby hats)
and I am also part of a group that is raising money to build a trade
school in Haiti.
Haiti Info - As you all know, Haiti was struck with a massive earth
quake. This earthquake has destroyed the little that they already had.
Their homes, businesses, churches, schools, etc. have been either
knocked to the ground or are unsafe (there are obviously exceptions). The other day learned from a guest speaker that one school was demolished by
the earthquake and killed
900 students. That is just a miniscule
amount of information concerning the disaster.
Now, about what can be done to help. A teacher at my high
school (WHS in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada) has started a project
that will raise money and build a trade school in Haiti. This project
has government support, support from the Rotary Club and, I assume,
support from various independent organizations. The estimated cost of
building this school is $70 000 and with a cost that large, every dollar
is going to count.
Right now I have one pre-made hat that was made for a girl on another forum but she dropped out of the sale. It is a tam hat with swirling rasta colours.
I can also make custom hats with any design I am capable of making or I can reproduce a previously made design. Pricing will be $12+ship for flop, $15+ship for tam and face mask/balaclava with ALL profits going to Haiti
