so im sittin here, by foot might be broke, and some bitch is next to me, talking the her mother. here are some of her nice quotes: "you think i'm fucked up mom, i dont want anything to do with you." Last time I was in the ER I had a broken heel and some little Indian cunt who looked 8 years old got to cut ahead of me in line because she was crying and appeared to be in "more pain." Fuck her and fuck the Canada's ER system. It is downright terrible. My heel was broken into 3 pieces along with the bottom of my tibia and by that point my foot was the size of a watermelon. But if you cry and make noise a broken wrist will get you to the front of the line. I hate the ER. Sorry for that rant, hope your foot is alright.

Haha I was in the ER the other night for my friend who we thought broke his ankle, he happens to also be an NSer.

There were some questionable people, like the lady who told her 8 month old to shut up.

but some people have shitty pain threshold and having them screaming in the ER might bring down the moral a bit even if it seems like they are less injured

Last time I was in the ER I broke my thumb and was probly one of the worst times of my life. I knew my thumb was broken and they took an x-ray within 5 minutes but I had to wait 2 hours for the doctor to come around and look at it and tell me if I needed surgery or not. I needed surgery and the doctor said I would have to miss 1 month of skiing. The next day I went to an orthopedist and had surgery the next day waited 5 days got a cast and went skiing that day.

I think the worst I saw was a chinese woman who came in (on a WARM day) with her young toddler bundled up in several sweaters and a couple of heavy winter coats. She was convinced her child was sick because he was too hot. The poor nurse (they didn't actually make it in to see a doctor thank goodness) spent ages trying to explain that the kid was fine and had on too much clothing. The second the nurse left them the mom put all of the clothing back on the kid and left.
Even if the kid was sick the emergency room was unnecessary, that's what family doctors are for.

I fractured my wrist playing road hockey in Grade 6. Now, I'd never broken anything before, so this was probably the most pain I was ever in. My dad picks me up from school, we go to the hospital, and I wait seven, SEVEN, SEV-FUCKING-EN HOURS, so I could get a splint on it. People who went ahead of me:

-East Indian lady with sprained wrist (she was even saying the entire time: "i don't think we have to be here it's only sprained.")
-Kid with "hurt shoulder", he didn't seem to be in that much pain, he was reading a magazine normally and stuff
-East Indian kid with a bump on his head, he was alright
-Old lady who's hip wasn't "feeling right". Not in pain, just not feeling right.

Maybe if I ran in there crying I would have been helped earlier.

Lol, mind me asking what hospital it was at?

I was in the ER in downtown Buffalo for a severely dislocated shoulder this past January. Some SERIOUSLY sketchy characters there.

surprisingly, a usually very not-sketchy hospital. Middlebury, VT, Porter Hospital. i have lived in the middlebury all my life, and yeah, there are rednecks, and i am pretty sure there is a halfway house for people with mental illness or retardation, and there are a few shady characters, but i had never expected to hear a girl talking about shooting up meth or heroin or whatever in this town.
