Okay, since you clearly don't know how to read or click a link to the article, I have copied and pasted the important facts for you.
you say... "its not like the cop started off being respectful either. you don't fucking grab someone for jay walking and push them into your car like you wanna arrest them."
The article says... "According to Seattle police, the incident began when an officer spotted a man jaywalking in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S. at approximately 3:10 p.m. The man was some 15 feet away from a pedestrian overpass, police said.
The officer was talking to the man when he saw four young women jaywalk across the same street at the same spot. The officer asked the women to step over to his patrol car, but the women were being "verbally antagonistic toward the officer," according to officials."
Let's see.. you say the cop didn't start of being respect, yet the reports say he called the group over for jaywalking and they started being verbally antagonistic towards the cop. They were the ones that started disrespect when the cop wanted to talk to them for BREAKING A LAW. It doesn't matter how silly the law is, if you break a law and a cop wants to talk to you about it, you need to follow his orders.
you say... "the cop's story if i recall correctly is that he grabbed her arm because she kept walking. You can't just assume that someone is intentionally ignoring you because for all we know the girl didn't even know he was calling her over and the cop could have easily just respectfully tapped her on the shoulder before resorting to using force."
the article says... "One of the women, later identified as a 19 year old, began to walk away from the scene despite the officer's instructions, prompting the officer to walk over to her and escort her back to his patrol car.
The girl then "began to tense up her arm, and pull away from the officer while yelling at him," investigators said. The officer told the girl to place her hands on his patrol car, but she refused. When the officer tried to grab hold of her, "she pulled away and twisted, breaking free of the officer's grip several times," the blotter report said."
Let's see... you're wrong again. He didn't grab her arm because she kept walking, he ESCORTED her back because she was WALKING AWAY FROM THE SCENE DESPITE THE OFFICER'S INSTRUCTIONS. Then he was trying arrest her for leaving the scene, NOT for jaywalking and she started trying to resist arrest while yelling at him.
And about the officer punching the girl... she came at him TWO times and after the second he punched her, BECAUSE SHE ASSAULTED HIM. Here is what is stated in the article:
"When the officer tried to handcuff the girl, another girl, this one 17 years old, intervened and placed her hands on the officer's arm, "causing the officer to believe she was attempting to physically affect the first subject's escape," police said.
The officer pushed back the second girl, but the girl came back at him. The officer then punched her, police said."
So... Bennn, do me a favor and shut the fuck up. You're wrong. I'm not posting in this thread anymore.
Heres what I said: “the cop's story if i recall correctly is that he grabbedher arm because she kept walking”
Heres what thearticle said: "One of the women, later identified as a 19 year old, began to walk away from the scene despite the officer's instructions, promptingthe officer to walk over to her and escort her back to his patrol car.”
In what motherfucking way are those different? How do you think he “escorted” her to thecar? Was it peacefully? I doubt it. Ialso find the cop’s story inconsistent because he said there were 4 women and Ionly see 2. What happened to theothers? Did they just walk away? If so why didn’t he go after them too? Until this question is answered, in myopinion, the cop’s story holds very little credibility. It also doesn’t say which of the women werebeing verbally antagonistic, nowhere does it say that the woman who was walkingaway was antagonizing him it just says that she was one of the women who wasjaywalking. It doesn’t even specifywhether the girl in the pink was one of the jaywalkers. This means that there are some gaps in thestory that again don’t help to validate the officer’s account. Who are the other 3 women and what happenedto them? Again what I was saying wasthat the officer was wrong to automatically assume she was disrespecting him bywalking away. He should have treated itas a case of her not hearing him before it became physical. That is all I was saying.
it doesn't say which of the four were verbally antagonistic it doesn't even say what happened to the other women in the group.
And to clarify one lest time, I am not siding with anyone in the video, they are all stupid for their actions I was just explaining why I thought the cop was also in the wrong.
