Sno Mountain Scranton PA??

yes I know its the home of the office, but does anyone from the area know about the mountain

Used to be called Montage.  I always thought the snow was a tad better than other pocono mountains around there.  It is NOTHING to write home about, but is better than Penn State's mountain...Tussey.  It is much worse than seven springs if you've skied there.

It seems like a fun school though.  My chicks sister goes there and seems to party a ton.

If you're just going for the park, hit up the regional forums and see if there's a park scene.

If you really like to ski, take it from someone who stayed in PA for college and GO TO SCHOOL IN COLORADO.  You won't regret it.

let's get one thing straight, park is all pennsylvania has going for it, and while sno mountain has an OK park alot of the other mountains near it have pretty decent parks. Blue Mountain isnt to far from there and have a good park. . . most years. Bear creek is about an hour and a half from scranton and normally has a great park. also boulder is kinda near there and has a really good park and a ton of up and coming stars like sean jordan and brogan are from boulder.

im pretty sure Camelback is close.

isnt big boulder around there i know someone who lived in scranton and would go to big boulder for most of the season

do yourself a favor and dont even bother with sno mountain, just head to camelback or BB, not far from Scranton and have IMO the best parks in the poconos

Sno is terrible.  I grew up skiing there and they continue to disappoint every year.  The only positive about it is that it is 10 minutes from the U.  I would definitely get a boulder pass if you are into skiing park.  Its about 35 - 40 minutes from the U and always fun and the season is much longer than Sno's.  Possibly consider getting passes to both though.  Sno can be fun to play around at between classes or if you are pressed for time.  Shitty skiing is always better than no skiing.  Their passes are also ridiculously priced though.  I think my senior year of high school a Sno pass was over $100 more than I pay for a PC pass now.

sno is a good mountain, people always compare it to big boulder because its not too far away 40mins big boulder has a better park(sno has a good park but takes them a while to make it nice) sno has some really nice/fun trails, there are some good glade skiing if you know where to look and some good headwalls to grip some gnarly air on . major problem with sno is make sure you have a good lock. my friends lose their boards every year there are way too many scumbags, and the food is really expensive, for pa. its 6$ for a cheese burger that will make you shit your pants on the lift. scranton is a sick town lots of hood parties just need to be careful of who you hang out with. if you want to ride some time send me a pm, i snowboard but know some good skiers who ride at both bigboulder and sno

Surprised no one has mentioned Elk yet. I haven't been to sno since it was montage so I can't speak for the park. It's not a really exciting mountain though layout wise. It is skiing though.
