Buddy Carr versus Kracked Skulls Longboard

Never longboarded before.  I'm 5'7 and 135 lbs.  I'm looking to cruise around my neighborhood and maybe do some hills when I get better.  I'm not into doing dancing or tricks.

I'm looking for a cheap board and I'm in between:

Kracked Skulls M1 (40 inches) $125

I don't want to spend a lot of money so if anyone has any cheap suggestions or wishes to sell me one, I'd be interested.  I've heard the kracked skulls are popular and cheap.  I want to know info on the Buddy Carr because I know almost nothing about it, but it is AWESOME looking.  Any advice, suggestions, etc. are appreciated.  Thank you!

buy the cheaper one 1" won't make a big difference. and you save a shit ton of money. I know nothing about either of these longborads though

I have a friend who loves his kracked skull. I have never ridden it though.

I would go with the KS board. Have never ridden a buddy carr board, it comes with nice trucks and I'm sure its a good board, but those wheels will likely be awful and its probably not worth the extra $50 over the KS. "Limited Edition of 100" screams overpriced to me. Also if they really only made 100 of those they aren't selling very fast, because I've looked at that board months ago maybe even a year. That "Hello" deck has been for sale on that site for at least 2 years. Probably a reason for that.

My opinion, get the KS, spend the extra $50 you save on sick wheels, it will make all the difference. Probably worth checking silverfish if you are unsure.

I love my M1, but I was really surprised how soft the flex was when I first got it. I've got about 60 lbs on you, so you probably wouldn't notice the flex quite as much, but I still wouldn't recommend if you skate like you're hitting a slalom course. It's legit for wide arcing turns on big hills though.

I haven't ridden a Buddy Carr board, so can't offer any advice there.

Get the KS for sure. If you want to have be able to ride with bigger wheels then 73 mm without wheel bite, get the schimitar. Basically same board with more space for bigger wheels.

i am the exact same height as you and weigh almost the same, and i have the kracked skulls scimitar in that length. its awesome, get some abec 11 strikers for wheels and it slays. seriously i reccomend it. and kracked skulls has the best customer service

I loove my kracked skulls but i have a few complaints. The trucks are so far out it makes manuals/ shuv its  extremely hard. It is also terrible for sliding. Its great for just cruising and carving though.

Anye info on how to paint it in a way that it looks professionally done and not just shitty.  I think I'm gunna paint it white.

Yeah I was surprised how floppy my Scimitar was when I got it. Honestly I really really felt like I was going to break it at first and was a little disappointed. I've had it for almost 2 years now though and its solid as a rock. I weigh 200lb's and my buddy who is like 260 rides it regularly, and also owns an M1.

To whoever said you can't slide them thats bullshit, I have Lime BigZigs on mine (not exactly ideal for sliding), and I power slide the shit out of that thing. They aren't ideal for sliding like if you are in to slide gloves and ridiculous angles, but they can certainly be slid around a lot.
