Macs are just trendy. I really feel they are only so popular because of how they are advertised...which the whole advertising scheme to me seemed to be, something like - make the consumers think they're uncool if they dont use a mac. And it worked. But realistically, they're pretty equal. I'm using a mac right now. I've owned my mac for over a year now. Its nice...i love the light up keyboard and the trackpad. Its a really well designed machine. Having used windows since windows 95, i feel like the operating system is a bit dense, and often times it pisses me off. I hate how the OS wants to hold my hand every step of the way and assumes im an idiot. I feel like windows wasnt like that. A mac is like an automatic transmission, and PC is like a manual....and most people have a preference. When it comes down to it, windows is def more bang for the buck...and there is really nothing that you can do on a mac that you cant do with windows(i know someones gonna try to disagree with me...) If youre a competent human being you'll have no problem with either.

Yeah, but even in the Apple commercials they refer to "everything else" as PC's.. for example: "Hi, i'm a MAC" "And i'm a PC."

so you can't really get mad at people for comapring MACs to 'PC's' even though they are technically also 'personal computers'

despite all this, Apple FTW.

mac vs windows should be the title.

all you fanboys, i can't wait til macs outnumber windows computers so you can find out that viruses do exist on macs too.

macs already have viruses, so once they become more popular, haxorz will make viruses since it will affect more people.

apple has used their magic marketing and have completely fucked you all over. they have the best marketing in the world now, and you're all victims to it.

OS X won't become popular soon enough. Mac OS X and iOS will effectively merge at some point. At which point iOS (or whatever it will then be called) will become the most popular OS--past even Windows. They've sold 100 million iOS devices in three years. Imagine what they could do in 15--the same amount of time it's been since the first modern Windows OS (95). The iPad is the future of computing. Some people, who have yet to truly understand the immense potential of the platform, will deny that. But they will all be wrong. This is Steve Jobs' plan to take over the universe. Lets just think about this. Why do we have to reiterate the same argument over and over when we can just let people decide for themselves? Not only is the (blank) versus (blank) shit stale, it doesn't go anywhere. Why do you care if someone else decides to do the opposite?

First problem... the only reason why so many iOS devices have been sold is because iOS is also, iPad, iPod, and iPhone. Everyone has an i-Pod now-a-days soooo yah.

Next problem, iOS and Mac OS X will NEVER merge. Why? They're two separate products that have no intention of having anything in common.

Last problem, THE iPAD IS AN OVERSIZED ITOUCH. NOT THE FUTURE OF COMPUTING... IT'S HOUSING IS BIGGER WHICH = BIGGER CHIP... CAN HANDLE MORE HOWEVER THEY DIDN'T PUT THE BEST POSSIBLE CHIP IN THERE SO IT = FAIL.

Steve Job will NEVER take over anything especially with windows, sony, and general microsoft products making way more money than Steve's products.

IMOP... macs are better for someone using a computer for simple things, word processing, music downloading and listening and internet surfing and creative projects... like photo and video editing, music making... those kinds of things

however, i think a PC running windows would better suit someone who likes to play video games... and thats about it


only thing that bugs me about windows is i feel like it takes me 4 steps on windows to every 2 steps on a mac...

also, hitting ctrl, alt, delete every 5 minutes gets old fast

Its kinda weird how the media can make a whole population of people think something is true even if its not. Macs are cool I guess. PC's are cool too. Those commercials with that guy from Waiting are stupid. My Ipod broke and I took out the spin wheel and taped it to my mixer so it looks like it does something. WOOOOO!!!!!!

Who else is disappointed when a team ties in the world cup. I cant decide if I am happy or sad.

PC's are very good for what you get, but they usually come with windows which is hideous.

Can someone explain the following to me: You start downloading a 400 meg file. You have downloaded about 2 megs worth. You put your cursor over the file, up pops

The file is not 400 mb, at this point it is only about 2 megs. You right click and select properties.and it gives the size as 400 mb. That is not correct. How the fuck do you get windows to tell you the true size? Or you start to download a file, but you can't connect to the server, so the file shows up but is only a few kb. Windows still says it is 400 mb even tho you havent downloaded any of the file.

Well, if your looking at the file in the location its downloading to, it will say how big the file will be when it has finished downloading, i cant tell you exactly why to be honest, but thats the way it is. It may have something to do with the fact that windows is just allotting the space the file is going to take up for it ahead of time.

Your other question is confusing though. You can see that it has downloaded 2mb, so thats how big it is at that point in time. Why does it matter what it says in the folder your downloading it to? You know its going to be 400mb when its done, you know that its currently 2mb. I might be misunderstanding something here, sorry ahead of time if so.

For the last part, same thing as above, windows is showing you how much space has been allotted for the file ahead of time.
